In the seventies the old railway from Tilburg to Turnhout was not used by NS any longer. But on this line, called "Bels lijntje", a passenger train was hauled by the railway museum's 3737 steam loco from 1974, during the summer months. Schaluinen was the end station. The 3737 was in fact an express train locomotive, and not suited to this line as there were many halts. After a few years the 3737 was replaced by a saddle tank austerity loco, nr 8826. This steam service was ended in 1981 and the line was broken up to become a bike path.

After the museum's 3737 had been withdrawn the saddle tank loco 8826 took over.
